Dr. Brie Woodruff

Brie Woodruff, DNP, is a family nurse practitioner and educator. She practices integrative primary care for all ages and has a special interest in helping patients manage diabetes, metabolic disorders, and menopausal transitions.

Dr. Woodruff received her master’s degree as a Family Nurse Practitioner from Seattle University and her doctorate degree as a Doctor of Nursing Practice from Frontier Nursing University. She has worked in primary care, telemedicine, and urgent care settings. She is a faculty member at Seattle University, teaching in the Family Nurse Practitioner program, and is passionate about teaching and educating future nurse practitioners. She is a long-term member of the American Academy of Nurse Practitioners.

Dr. Woodruff offers full-spectrum primary care to all ages. She strives to provide high-quality healthcare in a safe, non-judgmental space, which involves actively listening to her patients. She believes individuals should be active participants in their healthcare and that part of her role is to provide the tools, resources, and education to help individuals make informed decisions regarding their care.

Dr. Woodruff provides:

  • Integrative primary care including annual well visits, routine follow-up care, and acute care

  • Diabetes management: Type I and Type II Diabetes management including: nutritional support, supplement support, oral/injectable medication and insulin management, continuous glucose monitor (CGM) management, and insulin pump management

  • Menopausal transitions: including hormone therapy, medication and supplement management, and nutrition and lifestyle support

  • Gender-affirming hormone therapy

Additionally, Dr. Woodruff specializes in treating the following conditions in adults, adolescents, and children:

  • Depression

  • Anxiety

  • ADHD medication management

  • Hypertension (high blood pressure)

  • Headaches, including migraines

  • Skin conditions: eczema, psoriasis, acne, acute/chronic rashes

  • Skincare (preventative and age-supporting care)

  • Acute COVID antiviral management (mild/moderate symptoms)

  • Hypothyroidism

  • Asthma

  • Allergies

  • Musculoskeletal injuries

  • Short-term use of benzodiazepine medication management (i.e., for procedures, airline flights, etc.).

Dr. Woodruff does NOT provide treatment for:

  • Opioid pain medication management

  • New diagnoses of ADHD or starting stimulants for ADHD

  • Long-term benzodiazepine medication management

Dr. Woodruff is committed to social justice advocacy. She was a board member, provider, and clinic administrator for a volunteer-led free clinic from 2012-2020, which served undocumented and uninsured individuals in Seattle. She is a regular contributor to housing-first organizations that strive to provide permanent housing to address social determinants of health (https://plymouthhousing.org/).
