ALLERGY TESTING & TREATMENT
Start your journey to being Allergy FREE today!
Dr. Emily Lesnak, Dr. Middleman, and Dr. Woodruff offer skin-prick allergy testing at our clinic to evaluate allergies to: animals, dust, grass, trees, weeds, molds, and a few foods. Once your allergens have been determined based on testing, we begin treatment with either in-clinic shots or order you sublingual drops to take from the comfort of your own home.
*Please note*
You must be an established patient in order to schedule an allergy testing appointment. If you are not, please schedule a new patient visit first in order to determine eligibility for allergy testing.
Treatment with allergy shots or sublingual drops are for environmental allergens only. This treatment is unavailable for food allergies.
We are unable to offer skin-prick testing or treatment for peanut allergy.
We do not do in-house food allergy challenges (peanut, walnut, shellfish, etc).
We do not offer skin-prick testing for allergy to medications or insect venom.
Patients interested in testing for food allergies and sensitivities are welcome to discuss other testing options with their provider.
What does skin-prick allergy testing entail?
We perform in-house, skin prick allergy testing of 72 separate antigens
Quick, painless in-office procedure
Used to determine whether you have allergies to pollens, molds, pets, foods, and more
During allergy testing, the nurse or physician will introduce small amounts of allergen (called antigen) on the skin of your arms or back
The antigens will then remain on the skin surface for 15 minutes and then you are checked for a reaction (e.g, hives, itching, discoloration)
You will discuss the results with the physician, including whether allergy treatment with sublingual immunotherapy or allergy shots might be right for you

Skin Prick Allergy Testing Cost & Billing
Testing costs depend on if you go through insurance or if you choose to pay out of pocket/cash upfront.
Paying via Insurance. This testing is typically covered by insurance (varies by insurance) and may apply to your deductible. It can cost patients around $400-475 if it goes towards deductible, depending on your insurance and on the allowable amounts per your plan. You can call your insurance to request information about coverage for your plan specifically. For this testing, we use the Insurance CPT/Procedure Code: 95004 x 72 units. The cost of the testing is in addition to the cost of the co-pay for the office visit itself.
Paying out of pocket/cash pricing. If you would prefer to pay cash upfront, you can get the cash price of $375 for the testing.
