Dr. Mariah Prinster (she/her)

Dr. Mariah Prinster is a licensed naturopathic doctor and first year resident providing primary care for adults and children of all ages.

Dr. Mariah completed her undergraduate degree in Theatre Arts at the University of Puget Sound before moving to Minneapolis to earn a master’s degree in Holistic Health Studies from St. Catherine University. Her master’s thesis explored how healthcare providers can recognize and address implicit biases toward marginalized populations and work to improve healthcare outcomes. It was during her master’s studies that she discovered naturopathic medicine and found her calling in medicine.

After completing her master’s degree, Dr. Mariah went on to earn her Doctor of Naturopathic Medicine from Sonoran University in Tempe, Arizona. Her approach to care centers on shared decision-making and emphasizes the power of listening, curiosity, and validation as important features to look for in a doctor. She deeply values patient education and believes that understanding one’s health and how to care for one’s body is a critical component of the healing process.

Dr. Mariah’s clinical interests include pediatrics, gastrointestinal disorders including IBS and SIBO/SIFO/IMO, women’s health, and mental health support for anxiety and depression. She takes a trauma-informed approach to care and strives to create a space where every patient feels respected and cared for, regardless of body size, sexual orientation, gender identity, or previous experiences in healthcare settings. Her favorite treatment modalities include botanical medicine, nutrition, and pharmaceuticals when indicated.

Dr. Mariah also has an extensive educational background in traditional Chinese medicine. During her naturopathic medical training, she received significant training in Chinese medicine and acupuncture, which allows her to consider both Western and Eastern medical perspectives when developing individualized treatment plans. She incorporates modalities that fall within the scope of naturopathic practice in Washington, including Chinese herbal medicine, when appropriate.
